A BIG WEEK FOR THE SIM.

The iniBuilds A380 lands, Microsoft lays out the autumn roadmap, SayIntentions.AI lets the flight deck talk to the cabin — and Murph opens the toolbox for a proper Flow Pro and ChasePlane deep dive.

BEFORE THE NEWS · 04:16

The midweek shuffle — and a dev stream happening live

The show opened while Microsoft’s September developer stream was still rolling. Murph was taking notes live, trying not to break things in the name of “science”, talking Poland and the Baltics, the AN-28, the Praetor, model matching, shared cockpit, cats on harnesses and a very busy couple of weekends ahead. There was also the promise of Twitch front page exposure: “I might even brush my hair.”

The A380 is finally here

After years of development, iniBuilds’ A380 arrived in the MSFS 2024 Marketplace. Murph’s first impression was emphatic: the launch response had been strong, the aircraft had serious systems depth, both engine options, a richly modelled flight deck and enough automation to make the enormous Airbus approachable without stripping away the challenge.

Performance was the obvious watch-point for an aircraft of this scale, and Murph highlighted the options to reduce the load, including cabin and visual-effect controls. His own flights — including the entirely sensible decision to take the first one into Madeira — had already convinced him this was iniBuilds’ biggest aircraft achievement yet.

Murph's Take

“This has been a cracking release… it’s just a great aircraft. It’s enjoyable to fly. It’s a challenge. There’s depth there if you want it.”

WORLD UPDATE 23 · 23:59

Poland & the Baltics

Microsoft confirmed Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as the next World Update region. The official recap lists updated photogrammetry for cities including Tallinn, Riga, Kaunas, Vilnius, Gdansk and Warsaw, alongside five handcrafted airports, 77 POIs and new activities for both sim generations.

Five classics go native

Aircraft & Avionics Update 6 is planned for 29 September, bringing the Dornier Wal, Do X, Do 31, Junkers F13 and — to Murph’s considerable delight — the JU-52 to native MSFS 2024 standards.

New dates, new machines
BLUEBIRD 757 · 35:21

October 23 is finally on the calendar

BlueBird put a date on the 757: 23 October. Murph unpacked the unusual part of the delay — the aircraft itself is described as being in final-touch territory, while the studio has also been building the commercial infrastructure around its first major release and working through changes introduced by Sim Update 7.

The $80 package is planned with -200 and -300 passenger variants, Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney engine options, and coverage for both 2020 and 2024; the fully native 2024 version is planned as a later free upgrade.

Murph's Take

The hype has been enormous, and that cuts both ways. Murph is excited — the 757 was the first commercial aircraft he flew on — but after years of “coming soon”, expectations are now sky-high.

Airplane Heaven confirmed the unusual mid-engined Bell P-39 Airacobra. Murph admitted this one had escaped even his WWII-aircraft radar — which is precisely why it caught his attention.

EMERGENCY DISPATCHER PRO · 1:05:05

From solo rescue calls to an operations room

EmergencyDispatcherPro’s Global Missions and multiplayer update changes the scale of the add-on. Co-op crews can now answer the same incident, while the browser-based Command Center lets a dispatcher create and assign incidents, track aircraft and coordinate multiple active operations. Remote Medics can even join the patient-care side without owning EDPro.

“This is genius.”

That was Murph’s reaction to the command-centre concept — and the role-play possibilities were obvious: who is closest, who has the right equipment, who actually has the fuel to take the call?

HANGAR ADDONS · 1:13:05

A freeware hub with no timers or premium tier

Hangar Addons launched as a creator-first alternative to the established repositories: no forced pre-roll, no throttled downloads and no premium tier. Murph welcomed the competition, while pointing out the unavoidable question: somebody still has to pay for hosting and storage.

Murph's Take

Choice is healthy. The downside for simmers is another website, another login and another place to check for updates. In a perfect world, there would be one dependable source — but “utter utopia” is not where flight sim lives.

Voices, charity and the cabin
FLIGHT DECK → PASSENGERS · 1:34:12

“Just stall them.”

SayIntentions.AI’s new passenger-announcement capability was the perfect invitation for Murph to test the limits. From the A380 flight deck he asked his co-pilot to brief passengers using the SimBrief plan — departure, destination, cruise altitude and flight time — and then, naturally, asked him to stall a delay with a joke.

The co-pilot obliged. The resulting “grounded” dad joke was followed, in Murph’s imagination, by roughly 390 passengers slapping their foreheads.

“This is genius, right? So hats off to SayIntentions.AI. Brilliant.”

The more useful side is dynamic: delays, turbulence, diversions and other events can now be passed from the flight deck to the cabin, with context already available from the filed flight.

ROUTE 66 SKY RELAY · 1:28:48

Route 66 takes to the sky for Orbis

This is more than another group flight. On 26–27 September, the Route 66 Sky Relay turns the classic Chicago-to-Los Angeles route into a 24-hour community relay supporting Orbis and its Flying Eye Hospital. Eleven creators will carry the route across the United States, with Murph scheduled to launch the event on the opening Chicago-to-St. Louis leg.

The important bit: the community is invited. You can fly a single leg, jump in for several, or attempt the whole relay — and participation is not locked behind SayIntentions.AI. The aim is to bring the wider flight-sim community together around the route while putting Orbis and its sight-saving work front and centre.

Murph's Take

A proper community event: multiple streamers, an iconic route, everybody welcome, and a reason for doing it beyond simply logging another flight.

How Murph actually uses it
PARALLEL 42 · 1:44:51

ChasePlane: consistency before cinematics

The deep dive began with cameras. Murph’s real reason for ChasePlane is not just pretty wing shots: it is standardisation. The same controls and broadly the same camera positions follow him from aircraft to aircraft — and even between MSFS and X-Plane — so learning a new cockpit means less relearning of the interface.

From there he demonstrated view groups, physics, keybinds, Stream Deck control, community camera imports, cinematics, head tracking, the browser remote and the newer spotting tools — including SayIntentions.AI traffic.

Murph's Take

“It is a remarkable bit of kit.” The best camera system is the one that disappears into muscle memory.

Flow Pro: the wheel Murph misses when it isn't there

Flow is the other half of Murph’s everyday setup: fast access to time, weather, cameras, radios, checklists, doors, Twitch interactions and third-party widgets without constantly fighting the default toolbar. The TTM wheel, ghost wheels and community widgets showed how personal the setup can become.

There are limitations inherited from MSFS 2024 — multiplayer toggles and some data points simply are not exposed to developers yet — and Murph also discussed reports of FPS loss, with Portal/friend-list activity one area he has been investigating.

“Flow Pro is one of these things, I think, you miss it if you don’t have it.”

One more experiment

OptiScaler / neural rendering
DLSS / OPTISCALER · 2:49:26

“I break the things so you don’t have to.”

Murph closed the practical part of the show by reporting back on his OptiScaler experiment. Compared with his earlier DLSS 5 tests, he was seeing a much smoother result and lower GPU load on his own RTX 5090 setup. He credited Roy for the pointer and Kenko for a straightforward installation video.

Crucially, this was presented as a personal visual preference rather than a universal recommendation. Murph said he would keep the on-screen DLSS marker visible whenever he uses it so viewers know the image is being altered.

“I think it looks absolutely shagging deadly.”

His point: OnAir can be kept relatively simple, but for anyone who wants to really sink their teeth into the management side, the Academy gives them a structured way in.
